My Comic-con Preview Night

My nerves have been jumping around erratically for days due to the much anticipated San Diego Comic-Con, which opened it’s doors last night.

The first night of the convention is called Preview Night and it’s a night for conventioneers to figure out exactly where all the booths are in the exhibit hall. That’s why I call preview night the rehearsal night for all of us, because it enables us to plan out our weekend and not be an aimless soul amongst a sea of knowledgeable fans, who’ve spent that last few months staking out the venue and memorizing the panel schedules.

My main focus for the night was heading to the Warner Bros. booth. If you’ve been on twitter or to their site, than you know that the WB have been spending a lot of time on marketing for this event. Why? Because many of the popular sci-fi shows out on tv are from the WB. Shows like Fringe,Chuck, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Smallville, and of course True Blood. Also, since the first half of The Deathly Hallows is coming out this fall, you know there will be some Harry Potter goodness on tap.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get my hands on the coveted Vampire Diaries bag, but I have four days to try. I did, however, get Vampire Diaries Mints in a tin container!

My precious…

In the exhibit hall, I felt like Indiana Jones… in search of the Spartacus Blood and Sand (Which is an awesome show and the panel is on Friday in room 6BCF @ 3:15-4:15) bag with Andy Whitfield’s (Spartacus) face on it and the elusive Vampire Diaries (Panel Satuday @ Ballroom 20 4:15-5) bag.

Strangely, my highlight of the night was when I almost made my mother crash when we were a couple of blocks away from Comic-con and out of no where a True Blood Season 3 Billboard on a truck drives by with Eric Northman’s vampire eyes mocking me. Apparently I can’t keep my excitement for the True Blood panel to myself. Did I mention everything I got was free? Imagine the value of all these posters, magazines, books, etc.
